Chairperson

We are looking for a Chairperson to chair the orchestra’s Committee and oversee its financial and administrative affairs, whilst promoting the orchestra in the local community and taking an active role in seeking funding and sponsorship. This is a voluntary position that would suit a person with an interest in orchestral music and management experience at a senior level, with good inter-personal and motivational skills.

Publicity Officer

Manage the production and distribution of the annual season brochure
Manage the production and distribution of concert publicity; posters, flyers etc, via existing and new networks
Write press releases and liaise with local and national media, eg press, music critics, radio, music listings, internet, etc
Liaise with Webmaster to publicise concerts on the orchestra’s website
Explore and implement strategies for marketing concerts, increasing audience numbers and raising the profile of the orchestra

String Leaders - 2nd Violin and Viola

We are looking for two excellent string players to lead our 2nd violin and viola sections. Capable of playing solos where required, you will also take sectional rehearsals, provide bowing for the section and encourage players to join the section, including any extra players that might be required for concerts.
